Introduction of exhibition Azan
Composed of four pieces between video and photography and talk about different aspects of identity and heritage questions raised by the revolution.
The exhibition represents a vivid experience of the artist after living in and observing the current political events in Egypt; especially the control of the extreme right-wing sectarian over the government and combining it with some of the societal values that became familiar to the artist during her residence in France. Azan is the Arabic word for Ears (the human sensory organ), it is also used to refer to the Muslim prayer call, the word in itself contains both meanings the source and the receptor. The exhibition acts as a percussion bell discussing concrete issues in the Egyptian society in recent times.
